That's true, but i would rather have RJ around just to oversee everything...because movies based on books tend to change things around quite a bit and i know that authors sometimes don't want certain things changed. Basically, his approval throughout the process as opposed to just giving them the film rights and then having nothing to do with it. I'd like for RJ to make sure the movie is how he wants it to be, and not some other hollywood remake.

Another reason to make it a serie, instead of a bunch of movies, hollywood won't get involved, at least not enough to screw anything up.
And movies is not really a realistic option, it would take at least 10 +3 hour movies, and that's just for the storyarch, not much of the world building would fit into that.

yeah...hmm...I'm hoping though, that with the creation of a film, other merchandise will come out, hopefully making wheel of time more popular (which happened with LOTR). Personally, I wouldn't mind having more WoT stuff. Movies tend to bring that about.

There is already other merchandise available. Well, at least there has been. Fain's dagger, a heron-marked sword, the Aes Sedai ring...Think they made the pins for Asha'man as well. I was considering the sword, but it didn't look the way I had imagined it, so I never got around to it.

well yes, but all of those were called back. There's no solid product out there and openly available for the public (games, calendars, etc)

Well, I couldn't care less for junk like that. Ok, if they managed a Really good game I might be a bit interested, but then only chance of that happening is if some developer gets permission to do what Star Wars has done, used the universe, but used other characters and plots than the main story arch. As for other junk, if I ever find myself drinking coffee from a "WOT-mug", I'm going to demand a lobotomy, I could not live with myself anymore. There's this stuff though, a bit more interesting than calenders and stuff... www.badalijewelry.com/jordan.htm

I would be very interested in games (such as a WoT monopoly or Stratego or something). That's good for people who don't know much about the series-like me-to get interested. I don't see why it'd be junk.

I'd say Ridley Scott would be a good director, but he goes more for the completely-war movies (i.e. Gladiator, Black Hawk Down and Kingdom of Heaven), so him doing the Eye of the World might not be so great. Other than him and PJ, though I can't think of a director I trust enough to try it.

Considering that both Black Hawk Down and Kingdom Of heaven deserves a nomination to Worst Movie Ever Made, Ridley Scott is hardly a good idea. Ok, he did an amazing job with Alien, but that was some time ago, he's gone way downhill since that.

Ok, he did an amazing job with Alien, but that was some time ago, he's gone way downhill since that. What was wrong with those two movies? I know that Kingdom of Heaven wasn't historically accurate, but it was still well-made. Black Hawk Down was very accurate (I've read the book, which is basically a documentary composed of eyewitness accounts). I thought that movie was great too.

Regarding the music:
Lotr used that method, no modern music, all of it's general time...yeah i know what you mean , just like in Braveheart too. That would be good. So, I would definitely want to see some like 'folk' music for the first book early at the begining to make it a little humble if anyone gets that

Hmm--they should make a WoT Trivial Pursuit. The music should be in the general time, too, definitely. And I want to hear some of the songs that RJ wrote for the story. ^_^

Yeah, I probably would lose to anyone who thought they knew enough to beat me, but it'd be fun anyways.
