Okay, what is up with that? A whole bunc of books that I have read are now being turned into movies or are already movies. Examples: Eragon, Maximum Ride, Twilight, and many others of which I can't remember the names. Eragon I was fine with, even though they left out a lot of important parts (the characters were at least decent). But, if you have seen the audition tape for Amy Rose as the character of Max in the Maximum Ride movie, it's horrible, i have said how to get there in the Maximum Ride thread (like some of my friends said, Fang is our last hope for a good character). At least in Maximum Ride we have a chance for a good actor playing a main character. In Twilight, I think we have no hope. I can't remember the people they chose to play the main characters in Twilight but I know they aren't good. Not even the ones for Edward. Of course, if you haven't read these books, read them before you see the movies and you'll probably be far happier with the book. I mean, even with good graphics, bad actors can mess it all up.
Comment or add any other books to my GREAT LIST of 3 (note the sarcasm ;D)

yeah, i actually thought about that a few days ago. lots and LOTS of books are being made into movies. and that's both a good thing and a bad thing. i have to say, if it wasn't for movie adaptations, i wouldn't know about a TON of great books out there. i mean, i'm pretty obsessed with Lord of the Rings, and i never would've known about the books if they hadn't been turned into movies. and it's the same with a lot of other movie adaptations of books. but there's a downside. some movies have just butchered the original books (Eragon, anyone?). and unfortunately it's something we have to deal with. but hey, as long as the original books are available to us, we will always have those to admire and obsess over. and if you really feel that passionate about the movie adaptations, then maybe you should become a director and make your own version that does it justice.

I think they're just getting caught up with the hype of making books into films that they don't really care about keeping true to them, just making money. But the way I see it, the more they make, the higher the chance of a good one coming out of it all! haha

The simple reasoning is..One movie does well they make lots like it hopeing to gain in the spot light. I honestly think Lord of the Rings was the start off that really released the whole thing.
