I would love to see this movie (I love the battle of Thermopylae), but I doubt I'll be going.
It looks good, though, despite the fact that Spartans did not go to battle unarmored, the way they are portrayed in the movie. They wore heavy armor, if I remember rightly.

not heavy armor no, but they did wear some armor. But the movie is based on a comic, so i'm thinking it's going to be historically inaccurate anyway I mean...look at the immortals : I highly doubt they looked like scary giant ogres.

Good point. Is it really based on a comic? I didn't know that.

Lol--he probably still won't be that well known the the younger crowd, as in, those who wouldn't go see it because of the rating.

historical inaccuracies + one of Allison's favourite historical moments in time = her not enjoying it. I can deal with books made into movies, but this didn't need to be Hollywood enhanced to be a cool story. Keep in mind, I've never read the graphic novel. I'm sure it's quite good.

Well yes it was based on history, and still the outline of the story is still obvious. But the action was awesome. The director in an interview stated some of it is fictional. So people going into watching it should of known that.

I know that it's fictional, and I knew it before I watched it. It was a good movie, I just didn't enjoy it as much as I could have.

Yeah, I have to say, even though I knew it wasn't going to be 100% accurate, I think they focused WAY too much on the action and visual effects. It was too distracting and took away from the storyline...
