The Harry Potter books are excellent.... Can't wait for the sixth one....

As for the Artemis Fowl series, they rock. The fourth one was really good but sooo sad in one part. (I just put spoiler in the title in case this was one)

He's 14 by the 4th book. You'd have to read them.
