Ianthe frowned, concentrating on the paper, and reading the words:
To Ozella, Child in the Shadows, Greetings from Shyler who Runs with the Wind. Cousin, we are pleased to see thee finding thy way to this point. We rest assured that thou wilt join us soon, if thou continue on thy course. We guard thy passage and await thy return. Shyler.
The symbol at the bottom of the page was similar to the seal, and suddenly, Ianthe realized where it was from - it matched the pattern in the background of her amulet.
She glanced up at Aginor, refolding the paper carefully as she did so. "No... no. I don't think it will help." She managed a slight smile, but she was troubled by what the letter meant

"I see. Well on to more important matters. We must at once decide which route we are to take. Time is on the run."

"I think it's decided we go the shorter route," Silvana said. She glanced suspiciously at the letter Ianthe held. I shall ask her about it later...Silvana thought as she pushed the concern from her mind. "Make haste everyone! Get your horses ready to go and let us be off, the sun is already high in the sky."

Aginor mounted his smoke-misted stallion and held his cloak tightly. "I smell rain on the prowl. We should leave now and get as much ground between us before the waters mudden the earth. I would hate to have to trod through that devilish thickness."

Ianthe sighed, and tucked her letter into her pocket before mounting her own horse, who danced sideways in excitement at going for a run

Luna didn't have a horse. She never had one. Nor did she really need one. Instead, the wings hidden in her back unfolded and she transformed back into her "faerie size" (about 2 inches in height). "I don't know this area very well... so I better stay behind at least a few of the others..." Luna thought to herself. She hovered in the air until the rest began to follow the shortest route.

Aginor turned his head slightly to view the small faerie. She seemed so small...so delicate...and- He shook such thoughts from his head. "Alright, where is our first stop?" He heard a slight rustling in the trees behind them all. " I can't seem to remember the Queen's words."

Out of the corner of her eye, Luna could see a stranger looking at her, but she dared not to look back. She wondered what he might be thinking. "He is probably wondering why I, such a small faerie, would be on this sort of quest.. But I'll prove myself. I will be helpful. They will need me... somehow.." Her focus then returned to the woods as she heard a rustling in the woods. She figured it was only a small woodland animal, and concentrated on the path ahead. "Where to? We should start leaving now."

Ianthe's dark eyes became thoughtful. "If we wish to return this year we should head north before the passes close. We should go to the Northern Misty Marshes first and meet with Magdeline."

Aginor nodded. "Then to the north it is. Come on, time is fleeting." He wondered if such a small creature as a fairy could survive in the windy atmosphere, for the wind did start to exhale with a vengeance.

A strong gust of wind blew through the trees. Luna wasn't used to these types of winds. She was pushed back by one of the gusts and was forced into a tree. She got up and knew that her wings could never carry her, especially moving towards the gusts coming from the north. She instead determined she should return to her "human" form. She landed herself on the cool ground and in a second, she was 4'11 again. "Sorry... I believe the winds are just too strong for my wings..." she said aloud. "Great start to try to prove yourself, Luna" she thought to herself.

Aginor stretched his hand out to the tiny stranger. "My horse can carry two." He attempted a smile, but his lips refused to give in to his will.

Luna mounted the horse and with a slight smile, spoke a quiet "Thank you." She couldn't help but feel helpless. "He thinks I am weak, I am sure of it. What a good first impression I made.." She thought to herself. She didn't want any pity from this kind stranger. Yet, she couldn't help but feel a slight warmth inside of her whenever he looked at her with his strangely soft eyes.

Illian was on his horse, like the rest of them. His horse however was dark. In fact, dark didn't begin to describe it. The horse was black, so black that it seemed to draw shadows towards it. When its hooves hit the ground little to no sound was made. And then its eyes, bottomless wells of darkness that showed how at ease this horse was in the night. Illian rubbed its neck fondly and set his cloak into place.. he and the horse were a large shadow. He kept to the back, prefering to stay away if not needed.

Aginor had a sense of suspicion toward the man with shrouded with darkness. His mind grew uneasy. He felt his own horse move slightly as the girl mounted behind him. He'd protect her to the very end. A snapping of twigs approached them. The sound growing stronger. " Do you all hear that?" His hand clutched his sword tightly.
