The Lady Galadriel paused. She knew that Kamiri had sensed her - Kamiri seemed to have a sort of sixth sense uncommon even to elves. She turned and walked slowly, carefully, steadily, down the stone stairs surrounding the great trees. She slipped behind a tree and watched Kamiri under her lids.

Don't you ever know when there's someone watching you?
Kamiri sighed. She was still curious about who her watcher was, yet suddenly she felt overwhelmed by something - she wasn't sure what. Moving slowly over to the base of a tree, she sank down onto the grass at its roots and waited, leaning hr head back against the smooth bark and staring up into the canopy overhead. She wondered briefly where her sister was. Sometimes Eliwen had used to come out and find her when she wandered at night...
(just an invitation if you want to join back in again Eliwen)

Well, sometimes you may have a feeling - a sort of sense when someone is watching you - but that could be just paranoia. Hmm . . . Eliwen isn't back yet. *gasp* Oh no! Moving right along . . . Galadriel slipped out into Kamiri's field of view. Her face remained inexpressive, but her eyes revealed that she had something to hide. Slowly, she beckoned at Kamiri to follow, before turning away quickly to walk briskly back into the forest.
She paused once in a while to ensure that Kamiri was indeed following her, and not too behind less she become lost in the magnificently humongous trees of Lothlorien.
She was leading Kamiri to the Mirror.

Kamiri showed no suprise at Galadriel's sudden appearance. She followed slowly, almost resignedly. She'd expected something like this

magnificantely humongous.. i like that Hehehe . . . Anyway! It's nice to see that you're still up and about this forum, despite it's slight inactiveness! They reached an enclosed garden. No trees grew there, and it lay open to the sky. The evening star had risen wand was shining with white fire abocve the western woods. Down a long flight of setps the Lady went into the deep green hollow, through which ran murmmuring the silver stream that issued from the fountain on the hill. At the bottom, upon a low pedestal carved like a braching tree, stood a basin of silver, wide and shallow, and beside it stood a silver ewer.
With water from the stream Galadriel filled the basin to the brim, and breatherd on it, and when the water was still again she spoke. "Here is the Mirror of Galadriel," she said. "I have brought you here so that you may look in it, if you will. Many things I can command the Mirror to reveal. To some I can show what they desire to see. But the Mirror will show things unbidden, and those are often stranger and more profitable than things which we wish to behold. What you will see, if you leave the Mirror free to work, I cannot tell. For it shows things that were, and things that are, and things that yet may be. But which it is that he sees, even the wisest cannot always tell. Do you wish to look?"I copied that directly out of the Fellowhip of the Ring book.

Nice work
Wide-eyed, Kamiri stepped up to the mirror, with a glance at the Lady, as though unsure. Then, she leant over, tucking her auburn hair back over her shoulder, and gazed into the mirror below

Images flashed before her, hardly recognizable faces and settings. At one point, she saw herself, hardly four years old and learning to ride, secure wih her father's strong arm at her back as the pony walked placidly in a circle. There was a flash of colour, and she saw her mother dancing, as she always did when she wasn't busy. Then the scene changed, and her mother's eyes became distant. The dancing stopped and colour seemed to fade. There was a scream, although Kamiri wasn't sure where it came from, as her mother's face didn't move. The image disappeared, replaced by flashing scenes of running water, and then a view of a forest, marred by fallen trees as though a great hand had passed trhough and swept great lines of them ou of its path. The pictures faded, and Kamiri leant back, face pale and hands shaking at what she'd seen

After a long, heavy pause she opened them and said in a slow, dreadful voice, "I know what it was that you saw. For that is also on my mind."
She waited until Kamiri was looking directly at her. "So you see what happened to your mother. Do you understand now?"Short RPG-ing on my part, but I was running low on creativity.
