This is where the scolars meet, to discuss science and philosophy, and stuff like that. So, do you have a weird theory about Saidin/Saidar? Or trying to build a schocklance of your own? Well, get in here and tell us about it! In here, nothing is to weird to talk about, as long as it concerns the world of WoT.

Just had a stray thought. Is it possible that the memories granted Mat by the Eelfinn is only from other people who have acctualy entered the ter'angreal doorway. I just thought that the Eelfinn shoud have access to those. Otherwise they propably have access to all memories of mankind, wich I find a bit disturbing.
Any thoughts on this, or if someone knows if it has been discused somewere else?

It's not just possible, it actually is that way. RJ confirmed it in an interview (Yay! For once he didn't give a RAFO . That explains why his memories mostly comes from the kind of people they do, since the gateway were more videly known back in the days, and you had to be braver than the average Jimbo to go in there. And of course you had to be a noble or an officer to be granted permission to enter.

Someone poited out to me that in this case the Eelfinn would have to have access to a person's memories from the time they enter to their death, since Mat's memories on severel ocounts extends to the moment of death. A person could hardly enter the gateway after daying...
So if Jordan confirmed this, do the Eelfinn know everything Mat will do and has ever done, or do they continuely get the information about what he is doing? In the first case, if Mat survives Tarmon Gai'don, the Eelfinn does allready know how it will end. Not that it matters since they don't answer questions, and such a question would probably not be allowed by the Aelfinn.

Well, since the finns seems to somehow exist over the pattern, maybe in a way similar to Tel'aran'rhiod, it'sd possible that they might catch emotions of events that hasnät happened yet. But as you said, questions concerning the last battle are punished, and considering what they did to Mat, just because he bargained badly, that punishment can't be a very pleasant thing...

as I thought at first, they definitely need to be more careful with the finns. By the way, how long will it take Mat to figure out the Snakes and Foxes Riddle!!!!!!!! I mean, he remarks that each party looks like snakes and foxes, and he's constantly playing the game with Olver, so why does RJ torture us so?!

Oh, just found out that not all of the people whose mempries Mat has entered through the ter'angreal, a good bunch of them entered through the Tower of Ghenjei, which was more well-known back in the days. www.tor.com/jordan/questions.html
