Suilaid (greetings) This is where you can share any pics you find of Mirkwood...because i've realised that pictures of Mirwood are much harder to find than any other location in M-e I thought we could compile our own gallery Click on the thumbnail to view the larger image... I'll start with a map:

^You know, Eliwen, that's a very good idea. But is it possible to have thumbnails so that the download time is expedited? I've made thumbnails for the Lothlorien Photo Gallery.

May I just ask: How do you make pictures into thumbnails? I've never had to do that before...

You just make a smaller version of the picture and link it to the bigger version... Does that make sense?

Umm... no... not really... maybe I'll just send you the links for them?

Well, Kamiri, if you have some graphing software, you can easily copy down the pic, cut it down to thumbnail size, save the new image to your computer, and then upload it at an image host. Quite simple. I would do the same for the Lothlorien gallery - but I don't have graphing software. To solve the problem, I went on Yahoo and pulled up pages of Lothlorien images. Then I looked for matches where two pics had the same content, except different sizes (one was tiny, one was large). Then I used the URLs of both to create the Lothlorien gallery, calling the smaller pic the thumbnail, which linked to the larger, higher-resolution pic.
But the way I did it - let me inform you - is pretty exhausting. But I don't have graphing software, so I had to put up with the slight inconvenience.

elerrina is a way better explainer btw I think if you upload images to Imageshack they automatically make thumbnails for you...

~~laughs~~. Ok, thanks for that!! How's that? I tried using your thing, but it still came up with the same kind of picture as it did when I just did it my way...

That's great! but you haven't linked the thumbnail to the large image... this is how I linked the map

It's gone smaller because i turned it in to a thumbnail...now you have to click on it to see the larger pic. Kamiri, use these codes for your images:

Yay for thumbnails! The downloading-time for the page should be faster now!
