Well, that whole RAFO-thingy he likes so much has both its pros and cons. I can totally understand if he doesn't want to give away stuff that he'll put in later books. And frankly, how fun would it be to read a book if he'd already told us half of what's going on? But then, some things he RAFO's wouldn't really be a big deal if he at least gave a small hint. But then, he is the Master of The Red Herrings, and likes to fool us around...

Have you read New Spring yet, because I feel that people should actually first read at least TEOTW up to TFOH before starting to read New Spring and the other prologues. It seems to make a lot more sense that way, and the reader will have more fun, because they know some of the Accepted that later turn into Aes Sedai (for instance, Sheriam). By the way, there is this new TOR website about Jordan where every Tuesday he answers a question about his books. People should check it out

I have read it, yes. And I agree, you should definitly read the main series first, and the prequels afterwards, since they are just explanations of stuff that occurs. And I suppose most people reads the series more than once, I've read it about five times so far, and will re-read it again, probably before book 11 is published.

I feel so ashamed of myself. I'm only on my first reread Am I the only one that thinks that almost everything of some importense in New Spring, was things you allready knew. Of course not the raising to Aes Sedai, but still... Don't take me wrong I liked the book.

This book is definitely for people who love the White Tower. For me personally, the White Tower part was a little boring because I don't really enjoy the White Tower. It got much better out in the Borderlands. The second prequels going to be about Tam, right?

How many have been involved somehow before tEotW? It seems like Verin and Cadsuane atleast have plans that goes way back in time. Tam has of course been part of the story before tEotW. But how many more. Padan Fain seems to have been around for a long time, and then there are some black sisters. Since it was not widely spread, though it can't bee that many persons to do prequels about.
So who would you like to read more about?

I would definitly like to read loads about what Verin and Cadsuane has been up to, since that seems to be a lot. Then of course, reading about Tam's adventures will be awesome.

I don't know why but I'm even more curious about Verin then I'm about Cadsuane. But then again i would devour anything that came out.
And I would like to read about what happened to Fain, first when he was remade in Shayol Ghul, and later what happened in Shadar Logoth.

The only thing that piggyes me off about the books is how much information is repeated. It's one of the errors in R.J.'s writing. He keeps reiterating the fact that Siuane is hard to argue with, or all of the men vs. women stuff. I know that it is the characters thinking but couldn't R.J. just slightly cut out some clutter!
Also, I had a problem with Lan. As a character, he didn't seem alive enough to me for some reason. It's probably because there were barely any chapters with his point of view. However, R. J. could've tried to flesh out the characters a little more. It seemed like some of the sections were a little rushed, and I like to have stories that slowly progress in a methodical way.

I must say that I agree with the men vs women beeing far to pronounced. It narrows the story to much. I kind of hoppes that it will lessen somewhat so there can be some more interesting options for cooperation.

Have we ever encountered a main character who does not have a lot of stereotypical thoughts about the other gender? I mean really, these people can't talk to each other thru their minds! It is particularly frustrating because this greatly, as you said, narrows not only the story, but affects characters' motivation. On top of this, I have heard many people complaining about how repetetive some characters are, and I have to agree. How many times have I read "she folded her arms beneath her breasts", or "men were like mules"?! This is not a negative explication, but I am simply saying that R.J.'s work is not flawless, and to increase his fanbase he should try to not try the reader's patience. Sorry if that tried the reader's patience!
