Jain Charin.
I was reading on Theoryland.com and I noticed that idea, and I could kick myself for not thinking of it earlier--it seems so obvious. Noal is supposedly Jain's cousin, he's done a lot of the things Jain has done, and he doesn't like talking about him. I think Noal=Jain.

Yeah--I guess it's just one of the things that very few people think of, but everyone wishes that they had.

Noal claims to be Jain (Farstrider) Charin's cousin, and to have seen almost everything that Jain himself has. However, he doesn't particularly like Jain, because Farstrider left his wife to die alone while he wandered the world. I think that Noal is just Jain with a change of heart--he regrets his past decisions, but he still wanders the world, etc. It makes a little more sense if you read it for yourself in Winter's Heart, Crossroads of Twilight, and Knife of Dreams.
