It takes at least 6 months from the real release before the paperback is out, probably more.

The earliest might be mid April, but I would say it will probably be May or later.

aah! but i can't wait! what are some key things i should keep in mind for this book? In other words, what are some things I should NOT forget from previous books that would help me with the "aaaaah, i get it now!" factor of KoD?

Hard to say without giving away too many spoilers. You should definitly reread COT, and pay attention to where all the characters are, and what they're up to. But there are also several old plots that gets resolved, or at least moved forward. Remember the Black Ajah Egwene, Elayne and Nyn were ordered to hunt down by Siuan in TDR. Remember Darlin. Remember something about Thom, that we've been wondering for years. Remember the Aes Sedai Semirhage tortures on...Hmmm, either ACOS or LOC, can't remember which book. Remember what Egwene learned with the Aiel. Read up on all viewings and Dreams, some of them happens. Remember a comment Verin makes to Perrin in TSR regarding his axe. Too just mention a few things.
