Ok, RJ rules the world etc...But what other fantasy do you read?
My other personal favourites are George R.R. Martin - A Song Of Ice And Fire, Robin Hobb - The Assassin series, J.V. Jones - A Sword Of Shadow and Raymond Feist - The Serpentwar Saga.
Take the opportunity to take and give advice of good reading [would've been a goodol' smiley here, but they're all dead *sniffsobs*]

I totally agree with Shannara, I had problems finishing even the first trilogy, since it bored me so much.

Yeah, and if you pay close attention, it's basically a complete copy of Lord of the Rings.....only they replaced the ring with the sword and replaced the allonon (however you spell it ) for gandalf...eh you know what i mean...and the fire pit...gandalf falling...etc. etc.

Eh...Every fantasy gets accused of copying someone else once in a while, basically because there's a simplistic concept where good faces evil, and everything around that...So, however much I dislike Shannara, it's not copying Lotr. Just as Goodkind isn't copying Jordan, even if people happily accuses him of it.

if you have a problem then we all do, considering this seems to be a site for people obsessed with fantasy.

*loves Douglas Adams*
Erm, Anne McCaffrey isn't bad, either. My favourites have already been mentioned (Tolkien, Brooks, Jordan... Adams ;D ), but some of the classic stuff is good, too. H.G. Wells, for example...
