Yeah I saw it too and.......WOW!!! This one is really good! Not as good as the first (it's classic) but it's very close! It was really interesting and very entertaining, now I can't wait until the third one comes out! and they're not even done filming it yet...hehehe
well I am definitely planning on seeing this movie again while it's in theatres!!

I liked it, but I went into the movie expecting somethine completely different. Once I got over the mood change between the two, I was happy. Except it needed more Jack.

I agree, it was totally not what I expected....it was a little slow at first, but soone enough i got hooked and by the end i wanted more! by the way *SPOILER* Barbossa made me SO happy...i was wondering where he had been the whole time....it was an excellent way to end the movie. so what were everyone's main problems with the movie?

Problems? It was a little slow to begin with, and over all, I didn't like how they pieced together the beginning. Also, the movie had a lot of gore in it, particularly the beginning with the birds.
I did get a kick out having Tom Hollander in it, having recently seen him in Pride & Prejudice.

^I would have to agree with Allison about the beginning not really being put together very well. I guess that's my main complaint, other than the absence of a particular Murtogg and Mullroy.... But I'll have to see it again to analyze it better...

It was ok. Johnny Depp did a great job, and carried the film. But the story was...not convincing, to put it nicely. And when you find yourself enjoying the lead character far more than the story, something is way wrong. And I really don't like Bloom as an actor, he's too one-dimensional to be a good sidekick.
So to sum it up, good performance by Depp, the rest a disappointment.

Yes! Finally someone agrees! Bloom is not that great of an actor. He's always doing the same role and blah blah blah. Anyhow, I thought that's how you might have felt of the movie. Any hopes of enjoying the third?

Any hopes of enjoying the third? as much as I like him, I have to agree that I haven't seen much versatility in hsi acting, all his characters are just....blah...but we know he can act at least a little, it's just a matter of choosing the right roles and challenging yourself. So I hope to see more of him in the future playing more complex roles.

it's ok, i mean you're seeing it eventually! at least you don't have to wait in SUPER long lines to see it.....the lines were like massive when i saw it, and that's with the movie starting every 40 minutes...

That's true. There's probably going to be, like, nobody watching it.
