Yes I am very pleased New Line and PJ finally settled this. I just hope having a new director won't make it inconsistent with Peter's Trilogy.

i think theyre having nothing to do with the trilogy. theyre totally branching off and doing their own thing i think

maybe, i don't know, but i think that it would only make sense that Ian Holm or however you spell it would at least show up in the film at some point, maybe towards the end

Yeah, I definitely think they should bring him back for at least a little scene or something, it would be really nice. But there is no possible way he could do the whole movie, he's just way too old for that. I hope they get an unknown actor or a very little known one who is a lot younger to play the role. And I'll be interested in seeing trolls that don't look like rabid beasts.... ;D

oh yes almost anything Tolkien is at least a little bit good.  but i do hope they try to keep the lighthearted, adventurous spirit from the book rather than the ominous, foreboding nature of Peter Jackson's films. it would really change the atmosphere and the mood that Tolkien created so well in the book. |

I really can't wait till this comes out. I was so happy to hear it was going to be a movie that I told like everyone I knew. The book was just so awesome I hope the movies wont let me down, but I have high hopes for it.
