Hey everyone! We need some LOTR poetry on this site! I wrote acouple, tell me what you think:
LAMENT FOR THE ELVES
Features fair, in sadness grey
Tearful eyes upon this day.
The Earth that bore them countless years
Falls away with their tears.
Ships of white and sails of gold,
Laments sung by Elves of old.
Hark! and here the stormy seas,
smell the salt upon the breeze.
Valinor! Valinor! Embrace them there
Elves of old with faces fair.
Mourn you not for Middle-earth
It belong to men in all their worth.
And another: THE CALL OF THE SEA
Waves of hope and wisdom deep
Don't stop chanting, never sleep.
The calling gulls, they call to me
To find my way back to the sea.
I will leave the place that I call home
And wander there to be alone
And sit there on the ancient sands
And dream and wish for ancient lands.
Come ship! Come ship! and bear me away
To a place where I can lay
And dream of Elves and stars and Kings
And forgotten songs that no one sings.
Come ship! Come ship! and bear me back
For now it's home that I lack.
But I will come back here one day
And have you bear me swift away.

And I always admire people that can make good poems that rhyme, I never manage that myself.
