Do you consider yourself a know it all when it comes to Tolkien? Well, here's your chance to prove it! Sign up if you would like to participate in a debate. When we get more people (I would like about 6), then I will explain the rules further, if you have any more questions just ask!!!

Well here is the more information I promised. A debate will consist of two teams debating a controversial topic, for example Merry was more important to the Fellowship than Pippin. One side will argue Pippin was the other will argue for Merry. This is just an example. And here's where the knowledge comes in. You have to find quotes from the book and cite them. For example you could say that Pippin was more important to the Fellowship because he was Lord Denethor's servent. Now after you say this it's good to back it up with a quote. Pippen knelt before Denethor as he was recieved into the service of the Steward. ~ Minas Tirith ~ The Return of the King. These are just fake examples, but the format will be the same. When we get a tad more people we will do a practice.

because you can remember the part of the book well enough to describe it but not actually using a quote...
