Welcome all poets and writers of the sort. I have had in my mind the song of beren and luthien to name the poem thread *cough Hall* So here, in the Realm of Beren and Luthien, everyone is welcome to publish their works. Note:If you publish the work of another, please write the author's name - Thanx, Eve.
Believe me when I say the world shall end And only the strong at will shall survive. When finally there is no more rain to fall, The sun will shine no more, And there is no longer night or day, There will be courage lingering in your heart, And in your eyes the last remnant of hope, For only those who believe shall be the forthcoming.
(just a note: It is longer, but the long version that i wrote is in my english binder which is ironically at school)

well well! i shall post away then! as for starters, one of my favorite self written poems about beren and luthien and thingol!!!
The Plead Of Beren
"Not gold nor jewles nor Silmarils could take the place that your love fills for, to me your love is more valued than gold or ancient scroll, or treasure of old. Not dragons hoard or purest jade for none of these your love i'd trade. If starving, i would not eat the feast, for you, dear love, i'd slay the beast that parted the dwarves from their precious gold in caverns deep, and mountians old. For you i'd travel near and far, for you i'd fetch a silver star, for you i'd climb the highest peak for you the Silmarils i'd seak." "And Thingol, all i ask of you is to let me love your daughter true, to wed with her, to love and care, to run my fingers through her jet black hair, to stare into her ageless eyes, our love no more can we disguise! And all i ask here and now is what you wish, and of how my love for Luthien i can show."
"To Morgoth's land is where you'll go, a Silmaril you'll bring to me, and maybe then i'll wed to thee the fairest daughter of this land, for a Silmaril, you'll have her hand"
"Fret not my dear Tinuviel, your father shall get his Silmaril, for this king has a heart of ice, to sell his daughter at such a price."

The Choice of The Evenstar
While the morn rised She never watched But oft she would watch the sun's fading As the cold of the night Crept across the shores And in these moments She felt what she had lost Of everything that she had missed So used to the feeling of feeling nothing At watching her spirit sink Because she could never Fill her only heart's wish

very good! i really like it. now mine:
Aragorn's Heart
I would have her leave these shores, on elven ships with silver oars, and go unto the Undying West, to live forever with the rest of her kin, the elven kind, beauty of body, and beauty of mind. Though i know its best to send her afar, i can't not love my Evenstar. She gave me her pendant, she gave me her heart, i cannot bear to see her torn apart. Though my love for her is pure and true, i would have her go accros that expanse of blue. But i know my plead would be in vain, and we would cause Elrond terrible pain. She'd stay here and be my wife, and be doomed to live a mortal life.

He cries He decieves Nothingmore does he care abuot Than the lustful power of the ring He tricks He lies All he does is plan for deaths For all of the rest of the good on earth And is loyal only to the One For only his mind, can never be helped

ooh! i like this one! 'tis cool! ok, heres the first one i ever wrote!
Sitting in the forest glade there he saw the elvish maid, moonlight on her golden hair never had he seen so fair; and plucked out from the midnight skies silver stars shined in her eyes; and in her silver gown she lay until she stole his heart away. and on this stary moonlight night, he gathered all his hidden might and called out to the elvish maid; to stay with his was what he bade but away she ran into the dawn leaving him, his princess gone but he would stay, and stay he did; in the forest’s green leaves, there he hid until dusk fell and a full moon rose in the green forest, where the cool wind blows, when out of the darkness came her singing song and it was but short a’for she came along into the clearing where she had been before, where she settled on the forest floor. then she began to sing aloud, her sweet song echoing round and her song luled him into a dream world; when up she jumped, and round she twirled hopping and gliding through the trees dancing beautifuly with the greatest of ease; but then she quickly stopped and turned around, and disappeared without a sound, for she had seen him watching from the trees standing in the cool spring breeze; it gave her such a sudden fright that she fled swiftly into the night. and after that, and for a long time more, he watched her on the forest floor where only elves are allowed to go, in the green forest where the cool winds blow. but then on one cold night he was called away to war and fight. he sailed away and went afar, to mordor where the shadows are. But he never left that land, for he was to fall by Sauron’s hand in the only place where men should die. in Mordor, where the shadows lie.

The Promise of the Bearer
it has taken him away his soul has diminished night shall never return to day for the quest is never finished
no longer knowing what lies in his heart he trusts only what lies before him and that only draws him apart as the light within his eyes grows dim
he can feel the cold taking his hands it is more than he can bear as he travels across the lands all he feels is despair
for the ones that he love have travelled a different path the path not of the dove but of the crow's wrath
never again shall he see them as they once lived before as he lived in happiness back then he shall live that time never more
for a promise he did make that til the day he'd die he'd spill his heart for other's sakes and he lives for that by and by

really good. i like much. and mine:
When silver moon doth rise, and fill the blackness of the midnight skies, when fawn and deer lay down to bed, when spoken word is no more said, when silence fills the cool green wood, I stand and wander if I should go out and ask to hear her song, her sweet tune I have hear since long long ago I came into this forest in loss and shame for when i first came unto this land from my home i had been banned. But sorrow didn't stay for long, for one night when i heard her song and saw her dancing through the trees playng in that warm summer breeze; and elven maid so soft and fair, white flowers in her soft brown hair, in clear white silk was her body laced, when into my presence her dance had graced, and when she saw me standing there, in her green forest, i couldn't help but stare at the beauty of her elvish form for her right then my love was born; and as i gazed into her soft brown eyes i saw the feeling she couldn't disguise, the feeling of love we both now share, with me in rags, her body bare. with my hand i felt the soft elven skin of her hand as i drew her in to my loving embrace, and i held her near and wispered "I love you" in her elven ear and to her mouth i brought my lips, my hands nestled on her perfect hips. The deepest kiss, so long and true, until her face turned a bright red hue. She smiled and then she wisped away, just with the coming of the golden day. And every night, from that one on, i waited in the forest's lawn for her to come and share a kiss, to show our love, and our hidden bliss. And now each night when the moon is bright, i meet her in that silver light to kiss and love till dawn once more, laying on the forest floor.

SAMWISE THE BRAVE
he has given his life to one and to that one he solely obeys as he walks under the sun he follows his master for days it is his burden to help the bearer and this job lies heavy in his heart for at home lies one fairer that oinly his master could bring apart but he follows him with high steps as he trudges through the lands thinking of only what lies ahead as he holds his master's hand and as they pass through briar and bush and battle, enemies, and mountains he hopes for all trees of lush and beautiful silver fountains full of clear flowing water and gold scaled fish the thought always brings him farther as he dreams and casts a wish he knows it is hopeless to ever return to his dream but he thinks of all the happiness that lies not within this seam
