It's about the history of the elves. It tells how they came to be and how some came to Middle Earth. It also explains how some races came to be, and it definitely helps you understand the things that are going on in LotR better. I wouldn't say it's like LotR, because it's like a history with a bunch of little stories about things that happened, like a history book. But, it's not really that hard to understand, you just have to remember a lot of facts.

I recently bought Unfinished Tales, but I haven't read it yet...I browsed through it and I noticed the font was microscopic

*laughs* Yeah, it can be a bit intimidating, I guess. But it's so worth it when you've at last managed to plow your way through it. You can even begin to imagine what could have been, if Tolkien had lived for 50 more years... (unrealistic, I know, but you get my point, don't you?)
