SPOILERS
If you have not read the books and don't wanna know what hapens or anything.... DO NOT READ ANYMORE!!! You Have been warned!
Alright, here is where we can discuss the difference between the books and the movies. I'm not too sure if this is accurate, but I don't believe the Scouring of The Shire is gonnabe in ROTK (REturn of the King) Which really sucks, it should be, I mean after all that's where Saruman dies, right? And going back to teh TTT, I CAN NOT BELIEVE THEY KILLED HALDIR!!!! How could they do that!? I liked Haldir, and they killed him! Now I'm worried, if they could kill off Haldir....who else will they kill off? Legolas (heaven forbid!)? Frodo? Well what are your thoughts on this?

yes, i heard that the Scouring of the Shire wasn't gonna be in the last movie too...that's sad...about Haldir dying, i dunno, it's kinda confusing...why would they make him die for no reason?? i don't get it...
What about the Tom Bombadil? What are your thoughts on excluding him?

I don't consider it a very great loss that Tom Bombadill is out. He isn't extremely important to the story, and there's a risk that it would be almost like a distraction in a movie. When transforming a book into a movie, you have to change it a little, because a movie demands a somewhat straighter storyline.
But it sucks bigtime that the scouring of Shire is out. After all, that's when you really get to see how the hobbits have developed during the story.
And I don't think you should worry about Frodo or Legolas getting killed. They are main characters after all, and since they dpn't die in the book, they won't die on the screen. Beautiful, plain logic:)

Geez, Majsju, I hope your right mate, mum got me all worried when she told me that they might kill Frodo because it will be a GREAT ending to the movie, and that they moght kill Legolas because he doesn't REALLY do anything after the books......you know what I mean? I know that they don't die in the books...but neither did Haldir

But Haldir isn't a main character, that's an important difference. I don't think that Peter Jackson would dare to do such a violation of the books.

Bombadill is that weird guy that the hobbits meet in the first book. In a way he symbolizes the earth, which gives him protection from the ring, among other things. He saves the hobbits from that evil ent down the river.
But he doesn't really contribute with anything that's important to the story, not in a way that would fit into the movie. First of all, to include him in a good way would mean at least 30 minutes extra, maybe more.

Ooooh, now I remember. Right. Yeah I don't think he should be in the movies, I mean ...how do I explain my self here? Uhhh, oh forget it. I just don't think he should be n the movie, if I come up with an explanation that's understandable I'll post it!! ;D

I think I know what you mean. It would be rather disturbing to have Bombadill in the movie. In order to make his appearance meaningflu, he'd need the chance to develop his character, like he does in the book. And that would cause a slowdown in the movie. So yeah, good thing they left him out.

There you go. You siad what I was thinking. I just couldn't figure out how to put it into words.
In Scouring of the Shire, isn't that where wormtngue kill Saruman? If they don't put the Scouring of the Shire, then where do you think they'll have Saruman killed?

Near the volcano where he made the lord of the rings.

What makes you think they'll kill Saruman? His power is broken, and since they're leaving the scouring out, he doesn't really play an important part for the story anymore.
Merlin, you're confusing Saruman and Sauron.
